Our beehives are made in the heart of Mendocino County, California.
It is a great honor to make hives for fellow bee lovers who provide sanctuary to these precious insects that help make our world so wonderful!
Our hives are made with sustainably harvested lumber. All of the lumber and hardware we use is bought locally in Mendocino County.
Our hive designs encourage the bees to build their own comb while providing them with a well ventilated and protected space fortheir beautiful colony.
Mendocino County has outlawed the growing of Geneically Modified Organisims (GMOs), which makes our county an incredible refuge for the healing and restoration of healthy honeybee colonies.
Our family lives in Mendocino County, CA in the hills outside of the small town of Willits. We have been so blessed to share a beautiful piece of land with dearly beloved friends. We love living in the hills and being surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. We tend a large biodynamic garden, take care of chickens and rabbits as well as our beloved bees.
Jem made his first hive as a birthday gift for his wife Meredith. He really had no idea how much he'd love bees. It has become a bit of an obsession. Jem has always loved woodworking and now he is combining his passion for woodwork and his love of bees.

Our Top Bar Beehive is crafted from FSC approved, reclaimed and/or ethically harvested local wood. The hive comes with bars, follower boards, honey shims, and screened bottom with closeable winter door. It has a well-ventilated roof, and can be sealed with linseed oil. Base price $285, bees not included.
